She was educated at the faculties of music at the University of Toronto and McGill University, and completed her Associateship with the Royal Conservatory of Music in piano performance in 1993. She has been a member of the Royal Conservatory’s esteemed College of Examiners since 2004, and conducts Conservatory piano examinations across Canada and the United States. She is an active performer and chamber musician, and is in demand as an accompanist, adjudicator and clinician. In 2013 Lois relocated to St. John’s, Newfoundland, along with her husband, music theorist Joe Argentino, and their two children, and is readily settling into the vibrant musical community here.
“My approach to teaching is tailored to each individual student, with a basis in music literacy, ear training, and technical development. Many of my students achieve great success in conservatory examinations, music festivals, and competitions. But most of all, I aim to build confidence and inspire a life-long love of music.”
